Shortwave radio broadcasting is a remarkable scientific invention that has been a valuable means of communication for decades. It has been widely used for regional and international broadcasting services, especially in areas where other forms of communication are less accessible or reliable. However, certain challenges have led to its gradual decline in the current scenario. While most regional and international radio stations have reduced or ceased their SW broadcasting days. For example,
prominent radio stations such as BBC, VOA, DW, RFI, and Radio Moscow, among others, have gradually ceased their SW broadcasting. It was a difficult task for us when we tried to complete this “English Schedule A24 for South Asia” on the shortwave dial. Despite these challenges, a few radio stations still continue to broadcast on SW.Updated English Schedule A24 for South Asia
Although the frequency coverage
and time slots are limited, the following radio stations provide English
service broadcasting on Shortwave for the South Asian region. With their
dedication and efforts, they are working towards ensuring that the benefits of
shortwave radio broadcasting continue to reach a wider audience. However, it
remains uncertain how long they will be able to sustain their efforts given the
prevailing challenges.
